When Laney Murphy walks into Muldoon’s Pub in San Francisco, she has no idea that her life is about to change forever. I really liked this book. The characters are well-developed and the relationship between Laney and Sean is organic and believable. I did feel that some of the plot points are a bit far-fetched—it’s my curse that I hardly ever read the synopses of books, I just read them at face value, so, when the whole point of the security organization came into play, I was a little thrown off. I think that a book should be able to stand apart from its synopsis.  Overall, though, the story was well written and a cute read. If you’re looking for a quick book to get into over the holidays, give A Place to Rest My Heart a try.
