This weekend was a good one for my reading pleasure. I received a copy of Secrets of the Heart a few days ago, and I whipped through it. While it started off a little rough (both of the principle characters were virtually unlikeable in the first chapter), the book turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The whirlwind romance between Prince Nicholas and Isabelle has that old-school romance feel that I’ve been a bit nostalgic for in this 50 Shades world. Secrets of the Heart does leave some pretty big unanswered questions, but this is a short book, bordering on novella status, and for what it is, the novel is a sweet love story that, over-all, makes great sense, and has good characters. I hope that the author writes a second book with the Prince’s brother (you know how I always go for those secondary characters).
