Our review request pile is currently closer to a mountain, and we're kind of afraid it's going to fall on our heads and bury us all in a massive book avalanche. Guest blog & CONTEST with KT Grant: Why Two is Sometimes Better Than One

Today, we’re honored to have the lovely KT Grant guest posting and talking about her new book. For a chance to win a copy of Island Pleasures, check at the end of the post!

When I decided to write Island Pleasures, I knew right off the bat it would end up being a MFM (ménage) romance. Carly is the type of woman who can handle two men, who in turn are very attracted to her. Carly has a past with Quinn, a former classmate, when she attended Las Vegas University. She and Quinn ended up having one intimate night together, which both hold dear still, eight years later. Woody, the other man, is Quinn’s best friend and was also a student at LVU, but he didn’t have a close relationship like Quinn did with Carly back in college. When Carly infiltrates The Castillo Hotel and Resort on Grand Turk for an expose article she’s writing on the 1Night Stand online dating service, she never expected to see Woody and Quinn again.

I could have stuck to a traditional type of romance and kept the story between Carly and one man, but I wanted to test the dynamics of two men vying for Carly’s affection. Whichever man Carly ended up with would have worked, but how could I pull that off? Having Carly sharing intimate relations with Woody one moment and then Quinn the next might be off putting, so why not have Carly enjoy both men together?

The hardest part was making a ménage love scene between the three believable. The reader learns early on that both men have been involved in a few ménages together in the past. The question that pops up is whether Carly is willing to take a chance and have a hot night of sex with Woody and Quinn. Seriously, how could a woman refuse two hot men who want to pleasure her both at the same time and all night long?
“If you moved here, you could have us at your beck and call every day.” Woody ran his hands up and down her calves. In this scene, Woody tests the waters, so to speak, to see how open Carly would be if offered the possibility of a threesome:

She blinked at him. “I have responsibilities. I can’t just up and leave because of an amazing massage.”

Quinn snorted. “Responsibilities? Working for a gossip rag? You should write for a more respectable publication. You deserve better than Chit-Chat Weekly.” He dropped his arm around her torso. His thumb roamed against her side, dangerously close to her breast.

She bit her lip to stop from moaning. What was wrong with her? She shouldn’t act this way with Woody around. What could he be thinking?

Woody squeezed the back of her calf. She did moan then.

“Many women have complimented me on my massages and other types of ministrations in the past.” Woody wiggled his eyebrows.

“Yeah…and? What are you implying?” she asked, trying not to fidget as his caresses inched up higher.

“Maybe you’d be interested in creating a memory with us to take back to Vegas.”

“What type of memory?” She wasn’t sure what to make of the change in conversation. The way Woody stared at her made her think he wanted something of a sexual manner.

“You, me, and Quinn could spend the night together in my bed,” Woody announced, and she drew back her legs, ready to kick him.

“You’re not serious. That’s absurd.” He had to be teasing her. He couldn’t think she—

“You’d be amazed by how many female guests want to try something different in the bedroom because they think anything goes here. The stories I could tell you would make your ears bleed. Or perhaps make you come,” Quinn whispered and kissed her cheek.

“What?” Shock flew through her body. “Are you telling me you’ve had a threesome before?”

“A few times.” He ran his finger along the side of her throat. “Don’t knock it until you try it.” He kissed her and she grabbed his arms for support.

The joy is reading Carly’s seduction by Woody and Quinn. But the biggest question remains- does she end up with both of them or end up with just one lover? In order to find out, you’ll just have to read Island Pleasures. But whatever happens with Carly, she’s offered an amazing gift, and finds out why two men are sometimes better than one.

Island Pleasures (1Night Stand novella), coming from Decadent Publishing on 1/25/13.

Synopsis: Carly Kimball, columnist for the popular magazine Chit-Chat Weekly, is going undercover to reveal the truth behind Madame Evangeline and 1Night Stand. She’ll infiltrate the Grand Turk Castillo hotel and resort for her tell-all article. But Carly is in for an even bigger shock when she comes in contact with a man from her past, Quinn Alfasi, who she shared one passionate night with back in college.

Quinn never thought he’d see Carly again, and now six years later she’s come back into his life. He’ll do whatever he has to in order to expose her as a liar and a fraud. But then his best friend Woody shows an interest. Quinn won’t allow her to fall for Woody’s charms even if he has to team up with his Lothario best friend to claim Carly as his own.
