Music Monday: I pray for you by Jaron and the Long Road to Love

I’ve had this song stuck in my head for DAYS. Well, by the time this posts, it will have been weeks. And I’m pretty certain it’ll still be stuck in my head. It’s one of those catchy tunes that you just can’t stop singing no matter how many of  your favorite songs come on. And I’m okay with that. Because I love this song and I’ll sing it over and over and over… Also? It’s the perfect song for when you’re in a crappy mood and you want to say Eff You without actually saying it.

I am never without at least one book (I usually have two... sometimes more), and I will be happy to tell you ALL about whichever book(s) I happen to be reading at the moment. :)

Music Monday: Be my only by Schuyler Fisk and Tim Myers

I first heard this song on Ugly Betty when Hilda married Bobby towards the end of the series. I totally fell in love with the song, and now want it in my “big” wedding with PK. Until that day, this song haunts nearly every book playlist I have (I write romance, what can I say?)

Music Monday: Undisclosed Desires by Muse

I listen to music while I write. I have playlist upon playlist on YouTube, I have so many Pandora stations that I can’t keep track, and my iTunes playlist is exploding. To say that Muse has a heavy presence on all of these lists is putting it mildly. I love Muse. They definitely live up to their name – any time they come on the radio, my fingers itch to pick up a pen and start writing. :)

Music Monday: Marry You – Glee cast version

Last week, I showed you the song from the Glee wedding episode that’s become Monkey’s and my song. This week, the song I’m using is the one that plays any time PK calls me (“Awww”). This is also my chance to show you my ideal wedding, which is how Kurt’s dad and Finn’s mom were married – Glee style. Yes, I’d love the singing and the dancing and the gorgeous colors and… all of it. At some point, PK and I are going to have our “big wedding” and ideally I’d love to have a wedding like this, but talking him into it might take a bit of work… until then, I’ll watch this video and dream.

Music Monday: Just the Way You Are – Glee cast version

Ever since I saw the Glee wedding episode (where Kurt’s dad and Finn’s mom get married), I’ve had a special place in my heart for all the music. Next Monday will be my ideal wedding and the song that plays every time my husband, PK, calls. This week, I’m featuring the song that has come to mean something very special to Monkey and me. She has self esteem issues, so when she gets down (or when I’m waking her up in the mornings), I sing the chorus of this song to her:

When I see your face

There’s not a thing that I would change

Cause you’re amazing just the way you are.

And when you smile

The whole world stops and stares for a while

Cause you’re amazing

Just the way you are.

It’s “our song” and every time I hear it, I cry a little bit. Because my baby girl is truly amazing and I love her so much.

NSFW Music Monday: Tonight I’m [Loving] You by Enrique Iglesias

I was cleaning my house, listening to the Pitbull station on Pandora when this song came on. Now, I’m well acquainted with the “clean” version of this song (Tonight I’m Loving You) since it’s on the radio ALL THE TIME, but  I’d never heard this version. And, being me, I LOVE this version. So, this is my contribution to Music Monday. Hope you’re in a place where you can listen with the volume CRANKED UP. xoxo.

Christmas Eve Music Monday: O Holy Night by N Sync

I was about 16 when this album first came out. And yes, I was one of those annoying girls who loved Boy Bands. But I also loved Smashing Pumpkins, Marilyn Manson, and Nine Inch Nails, so you’ve got to give me some credit. *G* Anyway. This has been my favorite version of O Holy Night for 13 years, give or take (and now I feel old, ouch). It’s a beautiful a capella version and if N Sync had one thing down, it was their ability to harmonize.

Music Monday: I knew you were trouble by Taylor Swift

I’ve been avoiding Taylor Swift for a while now. Mostly because they overplayed her first CD until I couldn’t stand hearing Tim McGraw’s name (sorry Tim, I still love you!) I don’t think she’s untalented – far from it – but anything THAT overplayed makes me run screaming in the other direction.

Then, I started hanging out with @messofmomentss. She is undoubtedly the biggest Taylor Swift fan I’ve ever met. And when we’re in her car, Taylor is usually on. So I grudgingly started listening to her more and more. I love how her music has evolved the more she’s grown. The few songs I’ve heard from her new CD Red haven’t been as “country” as her previous albums, and I’m digging the music more and more.

I was reading an article in The Daily Mail and I saw a picture of Taylor Swift with bright pink hair, which obviously made me want to click the picture to read the article (way to go DailyMail). It was about the music video that debuted last Tuesday called “I knew you were trouble” and once I clicked play, it was OVER for me. I’ve had it on repeat all morning and I can’t stop listening!

It’s all @messofmomentss’ fault.

Music Monday: Valerie – Glee Version

It’s no secret that I’m a total Gleek. I DVR every episode, even if I watch it live, and have been known to force people (namely my mother, who has a serious crush on Mr Schu) to watch clips on YouTube… for hours on end. I fell in love with this song while deployed in 2007, as recorded by the original artists The Zutons. But when Glee covered it and Santana sang it, it was like… heaven. This song is guaranteed to put me in a good mood and make me wanna get off my booty and dance!  Happy Monday, my loverlies.

Music Monday: Sail by AWOLNATION

I found this on the Huffington Post and think it’s one of the coolest things ever. First, I love this song and second, I love The Old Man and the Sea. Since this is a book blog, I figured it’s fitting to post this video because it combines music and a book. (check me out being all smart and stuff, lol)

Happy Monday my loverlies!
