Thursday Thirteen: My favorite quotes from Lover Reborn by JR Ward
Lover Reborn was an auto-buy for me. How could it not be? It’s book 10 of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, one of my absolute favorite, and it tells the story of Tohrment, the once proud leader of the Brotherhood who is now a shadow of himself. I couldn’t put it down, glued to the pages from word one. As always, JR Ward had some of the most amazing lines and these are 13 of my favorite quotes.

2. “Maybe all the chicky-chicky was just triggering my inner bitch for no good reason.”

Thursday Thirteen: 13 Things That Keep Me Sane
Hey, all! I’m giving MamaKitty a break from all the chaos and doing this week’s Thursday 13—let’s see how this thing goes.
For a lot of people, it’s the beginning of a new school semester (myself not exempt), and as the classes and assignments pile on, I’ve compiled a list of thirteen things which keep me sane throughout the semester—well, at least, up until finals…that’s a whole ‘nother beast of a different color.
Pandora Radio. I study to the Solo Piano station. I’ve always loved classical music, but I find that it’s not too distracting to listen to in comparison to say, my other favorite, dubstep, when trying to focus on logarithms.
Coffee. I just can’t start my day without a cuppa, and I’m super cranky without.
Gym. Okay, Venus Williams I am not, but let me tell you, going to the gym for 30 minutes or so really helps relax me. Maybe it’s those endorphins. Plus, I can ride on the treadmill or bicycle and study! Multitasking at its finest, I’d say.
Romance Novels. Okay, okay, I know it’s a given seeing as I love romance novels, and it’s like, what I do here on MamaKitty, but taking a break from the history of nationalist Africa to read a quick bodice ripper is pretty effective at getting my mind in the right state to learn.
My iPhone. Staying connected to the outside world is a must—I have so much reading and other various homework assignments, staying in touch with people is totally necessary.
My Friends. I love my friends. They’re the best a girl could ever ask for, and they do kind things like bringing me food when I’m so caught up in doing homework that I forget to eat real food.
BravoTV. Can I just say that my guilty pleasure is the Real Housewives franchise? Well, yeah, it’s kind of a problem.
Misfits. OMG, this UK show which airs a new episode on Hulu every Monday, is my FAVORITE show. Three parts sci-fi and one part romance, it’s totally awesome. If you haven’t gotten on the Misfits kick yet, you’re missing out!
Once Upon A Time. At first, I wasn’t a fan *hides under couch* but I learned to be totally into this show. Sunday nights have never been the same.
Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl. Okay, so this web show is totally the shiz. It’s funny, witty, and REAL, and you can check it out on YouTube—can we say convenient?
Football. Okay, so I know that I don’t seem like it, but I’m a total football fan…well, correction, I’m a total Saints fan. I’m an unapologetic citizen of Who Dat nation, even though we got our asses whupped against the 49’ers. It was the saddest moment in my life, I think.
My Vitamins. I guess that this may be a tad PSA-y, but I’m totally on a health kick, and let me tell you, since I’ve started taking B-12, I have a shit ton more energy.
Me time. Sometimes, the power of silence and nothingness can be the best thing of all. I try to make five minutes, usually when I first wake up, to be still and not think. It’s usually the best part of my day.
Thursday Thirteen: series I love
Today’s Thursday Thirteen deals with my love of series. Yes, I admit it: I’m obsessed with reading (and watching) series, trilogies, quads, etc. I love reading about families, friends, and groups of people who are thrown together in unlikely (or sometimes likely, you never know with books and tv) circumstances and seeing where the writer takes the characters. It probably started with the Dream Trilogy by Nora Roberts, which I was entirely too young to read when I did, but that’s neither here nor there. It was about a group of women who were like sisters, who braved the odds against them and pulled through even though everything was stacked against them. I liked reading about characters from previous books and hearing the continuation of others’ stories. I’ve been hooked ever since.

Thursday Thirteen: My Christmas Wishlist
Since this Sunday is Christmas, I figure this is a timely(ish) Thursday 13 list – my Christmas Wishlist. Of course, Santa Claus has had my wish list since December 26th… last year. 
But it never hurts to have a reminder, right?
1. The most awesome purse in the history of purses. (Click on the pic to buy it for me if you want, hint hint, LOL)
2. iPad2 - I know, I have an iPad1 already. But I realllllly want an iPad2 too.
3. Like I wouldn't want a Kindle Touch. Come on, now.
4. iPhone 4s - Yes, I want a Siri of my very own.
5. I always want MOAR BOOKS. Can't ever get enough. Ever.
6. I'd like for my wedding rings to be the real thing (ours are from InspiredSilver.com currently)
7. 13.3" Mackbook Pro
8. I know it's not realistic, but I'd like Santa to bring me some health this year.
9. If he could leave me a fat stack of cash under the tree, I'd be a happy camper, too.

Thursday Thirteen: 13 books that WRECKED ME
So, I just finished a book that fairly destroyed me (Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill). To the point where I had to call my PIC Bells, totally snot-sobbing, to cry and whine and discuss the MAJOR PLOT ISSUE that nearly killed most of the people that read the book. And this got me to thinking: there have been a lot of books that have gotten to me like that. Seriously. A lot. Which is a good thing. It’s a mark of a really good book if it can pull that kind of emotion from me. If I’m crying (especially snot-sobbing), screaming, or laughing so hard I’m crying, it’s a freaking awesomebook. So this week’s Thursday Thirteen is a list of books that have in one way or another completely wrecked me – whether it be by making me snot-sob on the phone to my besties or by wrecking me for all other books for weeks on end because I’m certain there’s no other way any other book can top the book I just finished.
1. Snot. Sobbing. Phone. Call.
2. Couldn't read anything else for WEEKS.
3. Emotional wreck for at least a week. Possibly longer.
4. I threw the book across the room. Literally.
5. I re-read this one at least once a year but it makes me cry every time I do.
6. I cried for days after reading this the first time. (Book is WAY BETTER than the movie.)
7. I read this one while I was deployed - and walked around like a zombie after I finished it. Cried SO HARD.
8. Is it really any wonder I have 2 Megan books on the list? Another book where I was an emotional wreck. I still can't re-read this one because it affected me that much (although it is one of my favorites).
9. One of my favorite Shiloh books ever.
10. I had to set the book down at one point & walk away because of a certain scene. It's powerful, haunting, and will rip your soul in two. This is one of my favorite books of all time.
11. This book ruined me for all other books for weeks. Didn't think anything else would be nearly as good.
12. This one is another one that has a scene where I had to get up and walk away. Such a haunting scene, but a beautifully written book.
13. This entire book ripped me to shreds. I cried almost the entire time I read it.

Thursday Thirteen: Things I Wish
1. I wish my twitter friends lived close enough that I could give them a hug when they’re feeling down.
2. I wish I had enough money that I didn’t have to worry about bills and could still buy all the books I want.
3. I wish people never woke up on the wrong side of the bed (myself included)
4. I wish I didn’t have 2 more years of school… Minimum.
5. I wish I didn’t procrastinate so much on everything (I’m working on this one).
6. I wish my mom didn’t have to live with daily pain.
7. I wish my dad, stepmom, little brother, and little sister didn’t live so freaking far away.
8. This goes double for Twin, who lives in Georgia and is easily 3x as far, if not more.
